We gather on the 5th Monday of the month to prepare a delicious meal for the families at Union Station. Annual Women's Spiritual Retreat led by Betsy Perry
Saturday, May 19, 2012 - 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 pm
Angeles Mountain Center
3697 Fair Oaks Avenue, Altadena.
For centuries the Black Madonna has attracted millions of people from all over the world, and many have had miracles and life-changing encounters. Historian and All Saints member, Betsy Perry, presented images of the Black Madonna and spoke about their historical and spiritual context. Through meditation, art, and story she invited us to explore our own responses to the dark feminine within ourselves, the gifts we find in darkness, the hopes we have for wholeness. We discussed questions in small groups, meditated, wriote and drew in journals. Some made mandalas. We visited Stations of the Black Madonnas, during walking meditations outdoors.
Special Thanks to Chairs, Jeannette Miyamoto and Janet Lloyd for their leadership and outstanding food!
