Are you or someone you know in the All Saints Church community...
Addiction Recovery Ministries hosts a series of small groups pertaining to the 12-step recovery program and is open to people in all recovery programs.
BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT
The Bereavement Support Group offers opportunities to develop a better understanding of grief, learn healthy coping skills and share feelings with others who are experiencing loss. The program is coordinated by Pastoral Care and Spiritual Growth.
This seminar offers people an understanding (with the help of life stories) of the way memories of past experiences can still hurt and impair our present life and relationships, and suggests a way of perceiving God’s presence entering into those memories, bringing healing, release, and closure to our hurt and anger.
The history of the people of God is the story of special callings. All who are baptized are Christian ministers. Some may be called to lay ministry, others to the deaconate, still others to the priesthood. Our Christian journey is a life of learning to listen and discern God’s call to particular individuals and to the community of faith. Discerning the Call strives to educate the parish on its important role in identifying those who might be called to ordained ministry; and to involve members of the faith community in careful and prayer fully assisting those seeking vocational discernment.
An ongoing support group for people dealing with issues surrounding divorce. Anyone at any stage of separation or divorce is welcome. The group meets every other Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Vesting Room.
When the loved one of an All Saints Church member dies it is helpful to know that All Saints Church will celebrate life in the face of death, whether or not the deceased was a member of the church.
The Labyrinth is an ancient spiritual tool. The path winds throughout and becomes a mirror of the way we live our lives. It touches our sorrows and releases our joys. All are encouraged to walk with an open heart and open mind.
Lay Eucharistic Visitors represent the church to those they visit by sharing the sacraments of bread and wine with members of our community who are unable to attend church.
Lay Guidance Ministry is a program to assist members of our faith community who are experiencing stressful life events such as divorce, unemployment, death of a loved one, or relationship conflicts. Trained lay guidance ministers work with parishioners in a confidential setting to help them manage these events and the accompanying emotions. The lay guidance ministers are supervised by licensed mental health professionals. This ministry is a free short-term volunteer program, limited to ten sessions, and is not intended for persons with serious psychiatric problems or longer term needs. If you are in a time of need or challenge, you may meet with or speak directly to a member of the clergy. They can be reached at 626.792.1172. You may also simply call the confidential dedicated line at All Saints Church. That number is 626.583.2706. Your call will be received by the intake coordinator who will make an appointment to meet with you in person and will then connect you with one of the guidance ministers who will fully and deeply discuss your concerns with you in confidence.
Lay Pastoral Visitors fulfill important pastoral needs by visiting, upon request, those who wish to discuss issues of concern, (e.g. grief, illness or pain) or just to listen. Prayer is vital to this ministry.
Forgiveness is “The Road Less Traveled”…that can make all the difference! In this seminar held twice a year, we consider what forgiveness is and what it is not. We discuss deep anger, resentment, and the act of forgiving ourselves. We also talk about the love and forgiveness of God, and Jesus’ teaching about it, and his embodying it in his death and resurrection. Discussion is primarily on a personal level, and we briefly consider the forgiving of groups of people whom we resent or hate.
Myasthenia Gravis usually is an acquired disorder that results in muscle weakness resulting from an autoimmune attack against the nerve-muscle junction. This group gathers together to support the health, family and spiritual needs of those living with Myasthenia Gravis through group sharing and education. Family members and friends are encouraged to attend as well. The group meets from 10 a.m. to noon the third Tuesday of each month in the Guild Room.
Here we allow ourselves to settle in silence. We sit in fellowship in the All Saints Chapel, resting in the stillness of the Spirit. We listen. We keep watch. We let the healing, transformative presence work its mystery in us. The group meets Mondays from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. in the Chapel.

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION The art of listening both to the person seeking spiritual direction and to God's Spirit. It is carried out once a month in the context of a unique, trusting one-on-one relationship in which a trained person guides and supports another person in the search for a deeper and closer connection with God.
This group supports God's people in their vocational lives through regular opportunities to share career, job, and work issues and ideas. Our agenda is created and guided by the needs of participants and may address work/life (im)balance, un(der)employment, vocational uncertainty, burnout/overwork, and related issues. We tell our stories, read and discuss articles and books, and invite guest speakers to share with us. Meetings are open to all on the first and third Sunday of the month from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Seminar Room.
Members who wish to be married at All Saints Church are assisted in their plans by our wedding coordinator. Usually four to six months is the minimum advance time necessary to schedule a wedding. This time includes pre-marital counseling with clergy. We are committed to treating equally all couples presenting themselves for the rite of Marriage. At All Saints Church we understand Holy Matrimony to be a physical and spiritual union, entered into within the community of faith, by mutual consent of heart, mind and will, and with intent that it be lifelong. Our commitment to the sacrament of marriage being celebrated within the community of faith informs our policy of offering weddings for members of the parish. See All Saints Rules regarding weddings.
A healing Eucharist service is held every Wednesday at noon in the Chapel. Prayers for healing are also offered during the Eucharist every Sunday at the 9 and 11:15 a.m. services in the Chapel and Baptistry. |
