"The American Rocketeers Dictates of a Conscience"

Frank Malina – the first director of Pasadena’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) – was the subject of Blaine Baggett’s documentary feature American Rocketeer. Baggett will explore the ethical dilemmas faced by Malina during World War II and ponder aloud questions of whether he made the right decision by contributing to the creation of a mass destruction weapons system. Weighing his pacifism with the specter of world domination by Hitler and the Nazis, Malina worked hard to arrive at his decisions and in the end they cost him dearly. His story offers both a compelling piece of history and a challenging ethical example. From the All Saints Forum.
